Frolicking in the Snow

Kodi enjoyed darting around the backyard in the snow.
He has a stuffed monkey that's not so stuffed anymore and missing its arms and legs, but he takes it everywhere.

Mad Kitty

Can you tell that Dakota has had enough of Kodi today?
This morning Kodi woke us up at 4am. After going out in the snow, I decided to let him sleep with us on the bed. We finally had to put him back in his "room". Apparently the cat didn't like him sleeping on "his" bed with us and they began their usual wrestling match.

Dakota did manage to sneak in a little breakfast this morning. He stole Jarrod's powdered donut that I had put on the counter for him. We caught him eating it at his food bowl. What a sneaky little devil.

I think he and Kodi have an agreement in the house. Really it's a conspiracy. Dakota gets on the counters and knocks off things for them to play with, eat, or tear up. I found them this morning with a large rubber band. They were both chewing on it. Someone also chewed up my favorite pair of socks this morning. I know it was a group effort, but I think Kodi is the one who did the majority of the damage.

Friend or Foe?

Pictures can be deceiving. Kodi and Dakota "play" together daily. They both love to aggravate each other (just like Jensen and McKenna). I'm still waiting for the day that I find them passed out all cuddled together. I've been trying to get a good picture of them sitting next to each other but I can't seem to get them to stay still!

Our New Family Members

Meet Kodi - our 12 week old puppy. He is an Australian Shepherd mix and is very smart. He will sit and even shake your hand on command. He's a sweet little guy and McKenna is in heaven.

Our new kitten's name is Dakota. He is about 10 weeks old. He's a frisky, long-haired cat that has 4 white paws just like Four Sox had. Four Sox died in August just after school started. Jarrod found him as a kitten and he was 13 years old so the loss was very hard on all of us. We know that most of you probably think that we are crazy for getting a puppy and a kitten at the same time, but it's really going better than we had expected! McKenna has wanted a dog for 3 years now and we all wanted another cat. We decided to get a puppy and kitten so they could grow up together and would hopefully be friends. They are warming up to each other, but I wouldn't call them "friends" just yet.
